MINIMUM SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Spectrum TV-only Subscription:

With a Spectrum TV Select, Silver or Gold subscription, you can:

  • Watch live and On Demand TV everywhere from Showtime, Starz and Starz Encore (if included in your subscription).
  • Download thousands of movies and TV shows and watch them on the go with your subscription to Showtime, Starz, Starz Encore or MoviePlex.
  • Interact with the Guide.
  • Search for upcoming scheduled programs.
  • Add to your Watchlist.
  • View kid-friendly programming in Kid Zone.
  • Check the latest scores in Sport Zone.
  • Browse On Demand TV Shows and Movies.


Spectrum TV and Internet Subscription:

With TV and internet service, you can do all of the above, plus:

  • Stream live TV.
  • Set recordings or reminders (where available).
  • Use your device as a remote to change channels.

To access tuning and DVR functions, a compatible Spectrum Receiver (cable box) is required.

  • Motorola, Arris and Pace Spectrum Receivers can access Guide features and DVR functions.
  • Cisco/Scientific Atlanta Spectrum Receivers CANNOT access DVR functions.

Can I install the Spectrum TV App on my laptop computer or Windows device?
No. The Spectrum TV App is available on Apple, Amazon and Android smartphones and tablets, including Nextbook tablets. 

SIGN IN

New Customer or recently changed service?
It can take 24-72 hours before you can Sign In and access the Spectrum TV App.

When you use the Spectrum TV App inside your home via your in-home WiFi network, you can automatically bypass Sign In by tapping Guest Sign In; however, you must Sign In to access personalized features like Watchlist, Favorites and Customized Panels:

  1. Open the Spectrum TV App icon on your device.
  2. Tap Menu, Settings, then Sign In.
  3. Enter your Spectrum username in its entirety (Username@charter.net) and password.
  4. Tap Sign In.
  5. Tap Accept on the License Agreement screen (first-time access).
  6. Tap OK on the Adult Content Warning screen to proceed. By tapping OK, you acknowledge the app contains content that may not be appropriate for all age groups (first-time access).

FORGOT USERNAME OR PASSWORD

In-app support for Forgot Username or Password is available on some devices. If you use an iOS device, you can recover your username at Spectrum.net.

To recover your username (when available):

  1. From the Sign In screen, tap Forgot Username?
  2. Enter the required information and tap Next.
  3. Select the appropriate username from the list provided and then tap Sign In.
  4. Enter your Spectrum username in its entirety (Username@charter.net) and password.
  5. Tap Sign In.

To reset your password (when available):

  1. From the Sign In screen, tap Forgot Password?
  2. Enter the required information and tap Next.
  3. Answer Your Security Question. If you don't remember your answer you can verify your identity via text message or email.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password then tap Save.
  5. Open the Spectrum TV App to Sign In.
If you are trying to retrieve your username and are not at home, you may be required to verify additional account info and security questions.

CREATE A SPECTRUM USERNAME

You can only create usernames on certain devices. If you use an iOS device, you can create a username at Spectrum.net.

If you don't currently have a Spectrum username and password, you can create one in the Spectrum TV App.

  1. From the Sign In screen, tap Create Username.
  2. Enter the required information and tap Next.
Account Number is a required field.

USER STATUS

In Home: You are signed in, connected to your In-home WiFi network, and have full access to Spectrum TV App features, including Favorites, Watchlist and Customized Panels.

Guest: Indicates that you are using the app as a guest, but have not signed in.

Limited Programming: Indicates that you are logged in, but you are not connected to your In-home WiFi network. If your User Status shows Limited Programming, please check your device WiFi settings to confirm your device is connected to your In-home WiFi network (SSID). On some devices you can access WiFi Settings when out-of-home on the Spectrum TV App Sign In screen.

MY LIBRARY

My Library gives you quick access to all of your personalized programming including:

  • Recent Channels - displays recently watched channels or networks.
  • Recently Watched - displays recently watched programming.
  • Watchlist - displays TV Shows and Movies you have selected to watch later.
  • Favorites - view, add or remove Favorites for quick access.
  • Suggestions - suggests popular programming.
  • Downloads - find and manage your downloaded TV Shows and Movies.

Recent Channels

  1. Tap Recent Channels (More) or swipe left or right until you find a network channel to watch.
  2. Tap on the network channel logo to watch that channel.


Recently Watched

  1. Tap Recently Watched (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to watch.
  2. Tap on the program to watch.


Watchlist

  1. Sign In to view personalized content in your Watchlist.
  2. Tap Watchlist (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to watch.
  3. Tap on the program to watch.
  4. To add a program to your Watchlist, choose your title and tap the Watchlist icon (pushpin).
  5. To remove a program from your Watchlist, tap on the title and then tap the Watchlist icon (pushpin).

Favorites

  1. Sign In to view personalized content in your Favorites.
  2. Tap Favorites (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to watch.
  3. Tap on the program to watch.
  4. To add or remove a program to your Favorites:
    • Tap on Favorites (More).
    • Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
    • Swipe up or down until you find a Favorite network channel.
    • Tap the network channel to add (red heart) or remove (clear heart) as a Favorite.
    • Tap Done when you're finished.
Adding favorites in the Spectrum TV App won't impact your favorite channel list on your home Spectrum Receiver.

Suggestions

  1. Tap Suggestions (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to watch.
  2. Tap on the program to watch.


Downloads

  • You can download one copy of a title per device at a time.
  • Downloaded titles can't be transferred to another device.
  • Downloaded title will expire and be automatically deleted from your device if:
    • The mobile device has been offline for 15 to 30 days (depending on the programming partner).
    • The content is no longer available On Demand.
  • You'll be notified that a downloaded title will be deleted seven days ahead of the expiration date.

Tap the filter option at the top of Movies and TV Shows screens to display titles available for download for each category.

  • If you have a subscription to Showtime, Starz, Starz Encore or MoviePlex, you can download thousands of movies and TV shows and watch them on the go, everywhere, even without a network connection.
  • You must be connected to a WiFi network to download. If you try to download a title while not connected to a WiFi network, the download will begin after you connect to WiFi. You'll receive notifications from the app when the download is complete or if the download is interrupted.
  • If your device is not registered, tap Register to register the device immediately and continue your download.
  • If the download is available in multiple video qualities, you can select which quality you prefer based on the storage space available on your device: lower quality equals less storage space. Download times will vary depending on your device, the size of the download file and your WiFi connection.


Download a TV Show or Movie to your device:

  1. In My Library, tap Downloads (More), then TV Shows or Movies.
  2. Select the filter option at the top of the Movies and TV Shows screens to display titles Available to Download, and then tap OK.
  3. Swipe left or right until you find a program to download.
  4. Tap on the program tile for details.
  5. Tap Download.
  6. Select Download Quality (when available).
  7. Check the status of your Downloads anytime by tapping Downloads in the Menu.


Watch a downloaded title without a WiFi or cellular connection:

  1. Tap Downloads (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to watch.
  2. Tap on the program tile for details.
  3. Tap on the program to Play.
  4. Pause and resume watching playback from where you left off, or restart playback from the beginning.
  5. Rewind or fast forward using the slider bar at the top of the screen.


Manually delete a recorded title:

  1. Tap Downloads (More) or swipe left or right until you find a program to delete.
  2. Tap on the program tile for details.
  3. Tap the Delete icon (red circle with a white X) at the top right of the title.
  4. Confirm (Remove) or cancel your decision to delete the title.

LIVE TV

Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap Live TV to see all titles that are currently available to watch. Tap a title from the available list to begin watching in the Live TV screen or tap the expand arrows to view full screen.

With Live TV you can:

  • View live video.
  • Browse currently playing shows in the Guide.
  • Change channels within the Guide, and view program details--all without having to leave the Live TV screen until you are ready!
  • Tap the expand arrows in the Live TV screen to view full screen.
  • If the program is not listed under Live TV, it is currently unavailable to watch.

About Instant Upgrade

If you select a channel that's not included in your subscription package, you can upgrade your subscription with the app, via one of two options:

  • Select Upgrade on TV.
    • The app will tune your TV to the Instant Upgrade channel 2495, where you can complete the upgrade with your remote control.
  • Contact a customer service representative.

MOVIES

On Demand is now separated into two sub-categories: Movies and TV Shows. Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap Movies to see all titles that are currently available to watch. Tap the filter option at the top of Movies to display titles available for download for each category.

Programming is grouped by category, making it easy to find the titles you enjoy and subscribe to. Look for the Network logo in the upper corner of the title to see the network airing the program.

TV SHOWS

On Demand is separated into two sub-categories: Movies and TV Shows. Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap TV Shows to see all titles that are currently available to watch. Tap the filter option at the top of TV Shows to display titles available for download for each category.

Programming is grouped by category, making it easy to find the titles you enjoy. Watch individual shows or entire seasons!

DOWNLOADS

Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap Downloads to access your downloaded Movies and TV Shows or check the status of a download in progress.

Select the filter option at the top of the Movies and TV Shows screens to display titles available for download for each category.

Simply tap the title you want to watch and then tap the Download button.

SPORT ZONE

With Sport Zone, quickly find all the live games currently playing and get real-time scores. You can also use the Spoiler button to hide scores of games you're recording for later viewing.

Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap Sport Zone.

The Games on TV section displays:

  • Current games in progress with live scores and estimated time remaining.
  • Completed games for today with final scores.
  • Future games listed by day.
  • A THUUZ excitement rating (tap the number in the left hand corner of any game to view - as shown below):

You can also set scores to be visible or hidden by tapping Spoiler (when available).

  • A green check mark indicates that all scores are visible.
  • A red X indicates that scores are hidden.

Tap any game to watch the program when available. A Play icon appears if available to watch and a green key appears if the game is not included in your subscription package.


Programs

The Programs section displays all sports programs currently airing and a brief description of the program.

Sport Zone

KID ZONE

With Kid Zone, you can easily find kid-friendly programming and tap the padlock icon to keep your kids from accessing other areas of the app. Tap the Menu icon at the top left of the screen and then tap Kid Zone.

To lock into Kid Zone:

  1. Tap the Lock icon at the upper left corner of the page.
  2. Tap Lock on the Enable Kid Zone Lock message.

To unlock Kid Zone for full app access:

  1. Tap the lock icon at the upper left corner of the page.
  2. Enter your Head of Household username and password.
  3. Tap Unlock.

GUIDE

The Guide displays TV listings. You can use the Guide to filter favorite channels, search, watch and record specific programming.

  1. Tap the Menu icon at the top left of your screen.
  2. Then tap Guide.
  3. View TV listings by scrolling the guide left or right, up or down.
The current time for your time zone is also displayed.

Filter Categories

  1. Tap Filters.
  2. Tap the category you want to view and then tap OK.
  3. To remove the filters, tap Filter again and then tap Clear Filters.

Sort Channels

  1. Tap Sort on right side of the Guide to quickly sort channels.
  2. Tap Sort again to toggle between numeric and alphabetical order.


Network Listings

To view listings for a specific network:

  1. Tap on your desired network name in the left column.
  2. Tap on a program to view the available options.

Future Listings

The Guide provides TV upcoming listings, which lets you see what programming is available on a specific date in the future.

  1. Tap Today at the top of the Guide.
  2. Tap the desired date from the list.


Set a Reminder

Set a reminder to receive a notification 15 minutes before your program begins. The reminder notification will display outside of the Spectrum TV App in the event you're not signed in.

To set a reminder:

  1. Tap the program title in the guide to see the available options.
  2. Tap the Remind Me icon to see available dates and times.
  3. Tap Remind Me (alarm clock) to activate the notification.
  4. You will see a confirmation window stating that your reminder has been set and the Remind Me (alarm clock) is updated.


Viewing and Recording

To display viewing and recording options:

  1. Tap the title in the Guide to see the available options.
  2. Options may vary based on the title and whether you want to watch the programming on your device or your TV.
  3. Tap an available option.
    • Play: Begin watching the selected program (if available).
    • Download: Download the title for later viewing (if available).
    • Record: Schedule a DVR recording (Arris, Motorola and Pace Spectrum Receivers only).
    • Send to TV: Change your TV to that program.
    • Select a TV: Choose which TV you want to change channels on or record from. The default TV is your Primary Spectrum Receiver.


Play

You have two ways to play programming:

  • On Device: Tap the Play icon to start watching on your tablet or smartphone (when available).
  • On TV: Choose the Spectrum Receiver you want to watch on and then tap Send to TV (live or On Demand programming with compatible digital receiver).

Buttons and icons available while viewing your program:

  • Done: Stop viewing the title (X).
  • Play/Pause: Pause or play a title.
  • Volume Control: Slide left or right to turn volume down or up.
  • Closed Captioning: Turn Closed Captioning on or off.
  • Arrows: Expand to full-screen view.
  • TV icon: View the title on your TV.


Record (Arris, Motorola and Pace Spectrum Receivers only)

Before Scheduling a recording please confirm the below:

  • You are scheduling your recording on a Motorola, Arris, or Pace DVR.
  • The Motorola i-Guide (shown below) below is used in your home.
  • Your DVR is on and tuned to live TV with no menus or guides displaying. If your DVR is off it will not schedule any recordings.
  • It has been at least 36 hours since the installation of your DVR.

Select the desired DVR and then tap the recording option.

  • Record: Record a single episode.
  • Record Series: Record all upcoming episodes of a series.

If you have an Arris, Motorola or Pace receiver with DVR functionality, the TV App will offer the Record option unless you are scheduling a reminder for a program scheduled to air more than 7 days in the future.

ACCOUNT & SUPPORT

Account & Support lets you make a payment or view your billing statement from anywhere. You can also access support, find a Charter store or contact us, or even send feedback.


View Statement

  1. Sign in and tap View My Current Bill.
  2. You'll be directed to charter.net where you can sign in and view your bill.


Pay Bill

To set up auto pay:

  1. Once signed into the App, select Account & Support from the Menu.
  2. Tap Pay Bill and you'll be redirected to charter.net where you can sign in and set up autopay.
  3. Select payment method for auto pay and tap Enroll.
  4. Enter the required information and tap Review Payment.
  5. Check the Terms & Conditions Agreement box and tap Make a Payment.

To make a one-time payment:

  1. Once signed into the App, select Account & Support from the Menu.
  2. Tap Pay Bill and you'll be redirected to charter.net where you can sign in and make a payment.
  3. Select payment method for your one-time payment and tap Make Payment.
  4. Enter the required information and tap Review Payment.
  5. Check the Terms & Conditions Agreement box and tap Make a Payment.

  1. Enter your address and/or ZIP code.
  2. Use the interactive map to find the store that is closest to your location and tap the icon to view the street address, services offered, and store hours.

  • You can submit feedback about the Spectrum TV App.
    To send feedback:
    1. Select the appropriate feedback Category.
    2. Enter your feedback using your device's virtual keyboard.
    3. Tap Send in the upper-right corner of the feedback window followed by Done.

SETTINGS

The Settings Menu varies by device. Tap the Menu icon at the top left of any screen (three bars), then tap Settings to access Summary (or Overview), Devices and About (or Feedback) tabs:

Summary or Overview Tab

  • Username: You'll see the username signed in to the TV App and the Sign Out button.
  • Account Number: View the account number associated with the signed in username.
  • Version: View your current installed version of the Spectrum TV App on your device.


Devices Tab

  • Primary Spectrum Receiver: You can select the Spectrum Receiver (Cable Box) you most often send programs to from your device.
  • TV Nicknames: If you have multiple Spectrum Receivers, giving them nicknames will help you know which one you're interacting with:
    1. On the Settings page, scroll down or tap Devices.
    2. To know which Spectrum Receiver you're naming, stand in front of the TV and tap Check This TV or Show On TV until a message displays on the TV (wait 3-5 seconds).
    3. Tap to Edit the Spectrum Receiver nickname.
    4. Tap to Save.
  • Registered Devices: This screen shows a list of all devices registered to the account. Users can register up to five devices to download movies and TV shows:
    1. Tap Register to register a device.
      1. To download On Demand programming to your mobile device, you must first register the device within the Spectrum TV App.
      2. You are prompted to register your device the first time you download a title.
      3. After the registration process is complete, a success message appears and the Register button changes to a Remove option.
    2. Tap Remove to remove a registered device.

About or Feedback Tab

About

  • Version Information: View the version of the TV App currently running on your device.
  • Feedback: You can submit feedback about the TV App.
  • Privacy Policy: View the TV App Privacy Policy.
  • License Agreement: View the TV App License Agreement.
  • Adult Content Warning: View the TV App Adult Content Warning.


Feedback

  1. Tap Send Feedback.
  2. Select the appropriate feedback Category.
  3. Enter your feedback using your device's virtual keyboard.
  4. Tap Send in the upper-right corner of the feedback window followed by Done.
Please note we will not respond to all feedback received.


Closed Captioning

Depending on your device, you may have the ability to turn Closed Captioning On/Off by tapping the CC button directly on the video player screen.

You may also have the ability to Edit Closed Captioning Style, choosing how Closed Captioning (CC) displays including font type, size and color.

SEARCH

You can search for a specific title, genre or other info, such as an actor's name, to find titles.

  1. On any screen, tap the Search icon (magnifying glass) at the top of the screen.
  2. Using the keypad*, enter the title, genre, actor, network name or call sign in the search field. A list automatically displays available titles.
  3. Tap Browse All to view additional titles.
  4. The List View of the titles displays by default. Swipe down to view additional titles.
*Based on your device you can now search for titles, series and networks using voice search.

Voice Search
  1. Tap the microphone next to the Spectrum TV App search box (if available on your device).
  2. Speak a title, actor, or program name.
  3. Select from the list of matching titles.
