With the Remote DVR Manager, you can schedule a recording on your DVR from anywhere using Charter.net or the Spectrum TV App.

At this time, record functionality is only available on Arris, Motorola, and Pace digital receivers.

Schedule a Recording on Charter.net

  1. Sign in to www.Charter.net   . Hover over or tap Watch TV, and then select Guide.
  2. Navigate through the Guide and select the title you would like to record.
  3. Select your DVR from the dropdown menu, click Record and set your recording preferences.

Hint: Make your DVR easy to find. Name your cable an set a default   .

  1. Sign in to the Spectrum TV App and tap the Menu icon, then Guide.
  2. Tap the title you would like to record.
  3. Select your DVR from the dropdown menu, click Record and set your recording preferences.

At this time, record functionality is only available on Arris, Motorola, and Pace digital receivers.

To name your cable and set a default through the Spectrum TV App:

  1. Tap the Menu icon, tap Settings and then Manage Devices.
  2. To know which TV you're naming, stand in front of the TV and tap Check This TV until a message displays on the TV. Replace the STB name with a nickname and tap Save.
  3. In the Settings page Default TV section, select the name of the receiver used most often with the TV App.

Schedule a Recording: Troubleshooting

At this time, record functionality is only available on Arris, Motorola, and Pace digital receivers.

If you are having trouble scheduling a remote DVR recording try the following:

Confirm that:

  • You are scheduling your recording on a Motorola, Arris, or Pace DVR.
  • The guide below is used in your home.

  • Your DVR is on and tuned to live TV with no menus or guides displaying. If your DVR is Off, it will not schedule any recordings.
  • It has been at least 36 hours since the installation of your DVR.

If you are still experiencing issues you can try to update your cable box:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control once.
  2. Navigate to APPS and press OK/Select.

  1. Select TV App Update and you will see a loading icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your TV screen. When the loading icon disappears, your update is complete.

  1. Unplug your digital receiver for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. When it is finished reloading, you should be able to schedule a recording within 30 minutes.
If this step has already been performed or if your cable box does not need this update and you perform the update again, no loading icon will appear.
