The son of St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley is jailed on $100,000 bond, suspected of robbing 18 gas stations. Authorities say 37-year-old Phillip Goodwin of University City was charged Thursday with two counts of second-degree robbery.

Ferguson police and protesters clashed on Wednesday night after tensions escalated during a scheduled demonstration, part of the Ferguson October movement. Between 100 and 150 protesters marched from the corner of Canfield Drive and Florissant Avenue, a few blocks from where Brown was shot, toward the Ferguson Police Department.

St. Louis County Police took over security detail in Ferguson earlier this month but is it coming at a cost of safety in other parts of the county? Drivers in parts of St. Louis County may have noticed fewer officers on the roads and News4 learning St. Louis County Police have issued only a fraction of traffic tickets in the last few months compared to years past. A spokesperson for the department said officers with the department's Highway Safety Unit specifically charged with issuing traffic tickets are often the first to be deployed to Ferguson.

Leaks of information in the investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown are drawing criticism from both attorneys for the officer involved in the shooting and St. Louis County's top elected official. Attorneys for Ferguson officer Darren Wilson said Thursday that they are not responsible for the leaks and that any commentary should only come in a legal venue, not through the media, while the investigation continues.

A Missouri state senator was arrested on Monday night outside the police department of the embroiled city of Ferguson, authorities said, in another night of protests following the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teenager in August. State Senator Jamilah Nasheed was taken into custody by Ferguson police officers, said St. Louis County Police spokesman Brian Schellman.
