Ratings for Call of Duty: World at War

Rating Description
Presentation The overall interface could be better, with not a whole lot of emphasis on a stylistic front end, storytelling, or real interface design. In game though, things are cinematic and impressive.
Graphics The color scheme is a lot of green/brown (typical WWII color set), but the destructible environments, character animations, gun detail, skyboxes, muzzle flashes, smoke, and effects all look great.
Sound This game is packed full of cinematic music, line after line of recorded VO, and an overall audio production that pushes DS in a big way. Some gun sounds (SMG's) could be better.
Gameplay Stylus/button control is still inherently accurate, but uncomfortable. Random mini-game bugs hold it back, but there were a lot of fixes made to the game, and the result is a stronger offering.
Lasting Appeal This game is packed. 26 missions, achievements, stat tracking (local and online), online multiplayer, and challenge mode. More players and character building online is the next big step.
