The spring shower of Heavy Rain movie news that we got last May has now turned into a steady stream as the game adaptation bags itself a high profile exec.

Deadwood executive producer David Milch has now signed on to the film, joining former New Line chiefs Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne according to a Variety report.

Heavy Rain is being fast-tracked, although Milch will have to get the first season of HBO series Luck out of the way before he can commence work.

It's unclear how much of Quantic Dreams' Heavy Rain will make it over to the big screen, although given how cinematic the source material is it's a prime target for an adaptation. We were moved enough to give it a 9.0 when it launched on the PS3 last February.
